Bluebird Deck Company combines both mechanical and chemical treatments in order to restore the deck surface to it's full potential. A restoration will reveal the beautiful "like new" wood underneath the surface by removing old topcoats and oxidized wood.

 

The first step of a restoration is to remove and replace broken and protruding screws. Sanding off the present topcoat, mill glaze, and dead wood fibers is the next step. We achieve great results by sanding just the right amount off the old surface to expose the fresh heartwood. We take pride in our specialized process that eliminates any scoop or swirl marks. 

 

Once the sanding is complete, we neutralize and brighten the deck with environmentally friendly solutions. Brightening is the deep cleaning procedure used to remove the tannin and rust marks, and any gray from the wood surface, restoring your deck to "like new." 

 

Finally, Bluebird Deck Company applies a hand brushed topcoat to evenly penetrate the wood’s surface. This is a crucial step in achieving the desired result – a uniform and properly finished deck.
